VIDEO: Truck Crashes into Houses, 10 Dead in Tajikistan

Ten people have died and another 14 have been injured following an accident in the city of Kulyab in southern Tajikistan last night. The cause of the accident was a malfunction in the truck's brakes, as reported by Umida Yusupova, spokesperson for the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense.

The accident occurred on the Dushanbe-Kulyab-Khorog highway, when the Dulan truck collided with several cars and subsequently crashed into residential houses near the Somoni market.

“Ten people have died, and another 14 have sustained various degrees of injuries and have been hospitalized following the incident in Kulyab last night,” Yusupova stated.

A criminal case has been initiated, and an investigation is underway. Leaders from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Health, and other officials have traveled to the scene on behalf of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
