The Supreme Judicial Council Comments on Karen Andreasyan's Alleged Appointment to the ECHR
Reports have emerged in the media stating that the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Karen Andreasyan, intends to be appointed as a judge at the European Court of Human Rights and is reportedly vying for this position.
In an interview with "Haykakan Zhamanak," the spokesperson for the Supreme Judicial Council, Lilit Shaboyan, denied the information, calling it absurd. "Mr. Andreasyan does not plan to resign from the position of President of the Supreme Judicial Council and will continue to serve in this capacity," the spokesperson noted, adding that what was previously published in the press is simply nonsense.
It should be noted that Karen Andreasyan was appointed as President of the Supreme Judicial Council in 2022, and his term has not yet expired.
