The Speaker of the Artsakh National Assembly Submits Resignation
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh, Artur Tovmasyan, has submitted his resignation. This information is reported by the Assembly's press service.
“In accordance with clause 2 of part 1 of Article 130 of the ‘Regulations of the National Assembly’, I hereby resign from the position of Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh,” the letter states.
It should be noted that he announced his intention to resign yesterday, on July 28.
Recall that Artur Tovmasyan was elected as the Speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh on May 21, 2020, during the first session of the 7th convocation of the National Assembly. He is a member of the National Assembly’s ‘Homeland’ faction.
Tovmasyan is a founding member of the ‘Free Homeland’ party and served as its president from 2007 to 2009.
