The West Has Yet to Reach Agreement on the Training of Ukrainian Pilots
Washington and its allies have still not been able to reach a definitive agreement regarding the training of Ukrainian pilots for the use of American F-16 fighter-bombers. As a result, the delivery of aircraft to Kyiv has been postponed. This was reported by the American publication Politico.
Although Denmark and the Netherlands lead a coalition of 11 countries to support the training of the Ukrainian armed forces, no country has publicly committed to providing aircraft to Kyiv. The parties must also decide exactly where the Ukrainian pilots will be trained. One option is Tucson, Arizona, but sources indicate that "that idea has not received significant development." Another proposal involves sending American military pilots to Europe to train Ukrainians "somewhere outside of the country."
It has been noted that both options are still on the table, but no final decision has yet been made.
