Armenian-Azerbaijani Resolution Not Easy, But No Alternative Exists: Zakharova

The resolution of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations is not easy, and we understand this, but there is no alternative to it. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during her weekly briefing.

“Armenia and Azerbaijan are brotherly nations for us. The peace process must include the creation of a positive atmosphere, reconciliation of societies, dialogue among expert communities, dialogue between religious leaders, and activation of inter-parliamentary relations. The process of Armenian-Azerbaijani resolution is not going smoothly, but there is no alternative to peace,” she said.

She added, “We are eagerly awaiting new contacts in the coming months.” Zakharova addressed the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process, the normalization of relations, and regional issues.
