We Have Not Received Any Official Communication from Azerbaijan Regarding the Suspension of the Yeraskh Plant Construction: Ministry of Environment
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Environment has stated on their Facebook page: “In response to rumors circulating in the media that the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has sent a letter to the Armenian Minister of Environment demanding the halt of construction of a large metallurgical plant, I would like to inform you that the Ministry of Environment, represented by Minister Hakob Simidian, has not received any official communication.” This announcement was made by the ministry's spokesperson Ani Hakobyan.
It is worth recalling that earlier reports indicated that according to Azerbaijani media, the letter from the Azerbaijani Minister of Environment and Natural Resources to the Armenian Minister of Environment stated that the Azerbaijani government has “demanded” that Armenia immediately halt construction until the issues related to the project's transboundary impact are fully clarified and adequately addressed.
