Justice Minister Resigns After Crash in Impaired State in New Zealand
The Minister of Justice and Courts in New Zealand, Kiri Allan, has resigned following a crash while under the influence of alcohol. This was reported by Rbc.
New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins stated that Allan was involved in an accident in Wellington on Sunday, July 23. Law enforcement officials detained her, and she was released four hours later from the police station.
Allan has been charged with driving under the influence and resisting arrest. She has agreed with the Prime Minister and submitted her resignation.
Reportedly, Allan will continue to serve as a member of the country's parliament for the time being. This marks the fourth ministerial resignation in New Zealand in 2023.
