Veterans of the Great Patriotic War Also Under Siege in Artsakh: David Babayan

Several veterans of the Great Patriotic War, all nearly 100 years old, are also under siege in Artsakh, as reported by David Babayan, adviser to the President of Artsakh, on his Facebook page.

“Recently, I met with one of them. The grandfather said something remarkable. He recounted that he fought in Stalingrad, at Kursk, and captured Berlin, but he never imagined that at the end of his life, he could die of hunger. Yet, even at such an old age and in difficult circumstances, the liberator soldier thinks not of himself, but of his grandchildren and his wounded country, which did so much to defeat the brown plague and the situation the world finds itself in today. Yes, it is a very interesting message to the world,” Babayan wrote.
