VIDEO. Dozens Found Dead in Tunnels in South Korea
A flooded bus has been discovered in an underground tunnel. A total of 15 vehicles were found in the 685-meter-long tunnel, according to Iz.ru. Dozens of people have been reported dead in the tunnels. Over the course of several days of torrential rains, the death toll has reached 39.
South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol on Monday blamed the country's executive government for significant shortcomings in responding to natural disasters.
Since Thursday, heavy rains have inundated the central and southern regions of the country, as the rainy season, which began in late June, has reached its peak. The Ministry of Interior has also reported that 9 people remain missing, and there are 34 injured.
Earlier reports indicated that the death toll from heavy rains, floods, and landslides in South Korea had reached 37.
