Stoltenberg Proposes to Cancel NATO Membership Action Plan for Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has stated that he has proposed to cancel Ukraine's Membership Action Plan for joining the alliance, which will allow for a streamlined membership process. This was reported by ria.ru.
“I have suggested a three-point program to bring Ukraine closer to NATO. This is a multi-year support package that strengthens political ties through the establishment of a NATO-Ukraine Council, while also removing the need for the Membership Action Plan, which will allow for an expedited process,” he said before the start of the NATO summit in Vilnius.
