There may be pressure on me, but it is the pressure of the people; there is no other pressure and there cannot be, from great powers, from the authorities of Armenia, from political groups, from political figures, or from anyone else,” stated President Araik Harutyunyan in the Artsakh Parliament in response to a question from Metakse Hakobyan, a member of the ‘Justice’ faction, regarding whether there is pressure that could compel him to accept a proposal for dialogue in the format proposed by Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“The only case where there can be pressure is if there is pressure from the people. We must work so that society understands that if there is no sugar in 10 days, if the women working in the market come and ask, 'What will happen in the end?' then, people, we need to make a decision: is our main goal to have sugar, to drink Coca-Cola, to have beer, or to actually achieve our objective? If our goal is to reach our objective, then yes, we must endure sacrifices. Azerbaijan will do everything to divide society. In the end, everything will be good, be assured,” stated Araik Harutyunyan.
