The Main Event is Still Ahead: Ukraine's Defense Ministry on the Counteroffensive

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, has stated that Kyiv's counteroffensive has shown "modest successes" but is not the "main event." He mentioned that the main reserves of soldiers have not yet been activated, including those who have recently undergone training in Western countries.

“When it (the main event of the counteroffensive) happens, you will see it all. Everyone will see everything,” Reznikov said in an interview with the Financial Times. He did not provide further details.

It is worth noting that on June 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that the Ukrainian counteroffensive had already begun, but has not been successful. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukrainian forces are facing very serious resistance during the counteroffensive, but described the situation as "generally positive."
