Due to Supplies to Ukraine, Germany Has Only 20,000 Rounds of 155mm Ammunition Left

Germany has around 20,000 rounds of 155mm ammunition left due to overall deficits and ongoing supplies to Ukraine, although according to NATO requirements, the Bundeswehr's stock should accumulate 230,000 units by 2031, reports Spiegel.

In this regard, German authorities plan to prepare around nine contracts in the near future to fill the ammunition shortage. It is noteworthy that NATO's 155mm rounds are actively used by the Ukrainian armed forces.

Earlier today, Jens Stoltenberg, speaking at an economic conference in Berlin, stated that NATO's stockpiles are empty. He emphasized that the West needs a more robust defense industry.
