The Main Issue of Unblocking is Who Will Ensure the Safety of Those Using These Routes: Ovechuk

The main issue regarding the unblocking of roads is who will ensure the safety of those using these routes, stated Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Ovechuk.

“The draft document has been prepared and nearly fully agreed upon at our level, although we still need to work on the key issue of how ordinary Azerbaijanis and Armenians will communicate when crossing the border,” noted the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.

Following the recent trilateral meeting of deputy prime ministers, official Yerevan announced that in the case of unblocking, the border service in Armenian territory should be conducted by Armenia. Meanwhile, Baku insists that Russian border guards will monitor the routes within Armenian territory.
