Russia Strengthens Forces to Bolster Zaporozhye and Bakhmut Directions
British intelligence reports indicate that over the past ten days, Russia has begun moving its forces to the eastern bank of the Dnieper River to reinforce its positions in the Zaporozhye and Bakhmut regions.
This involves several thousand servicemen from the 49th Army, including troops from the 34th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, as well as parts of airborne troops and naval infantry.
The redistribution of forces reflects Russia's assessment that following the collapse of the Kakhovka Dam and the resultant flooding, a major Ukrainian offensive across the Dnieper has become less likely.
