Shoygu Orders Increase in Production of Howitzers and Heavy Mortars

Russia's Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu has conducted a surprise visit to the Omsk region, where he instructed a state-run enterprise to increase the production of howitzers and heavy mortars.

According to the ministry’s statement, “The minister told the leaders of the facility that it is essential to strictly adhere to the production schedule of military equipment for the Russian army participating in the special military operation and has ordered an expansion of the production capacities for howitzers and heavy mortars.”

Additionally, Shoygu inspected the preparation of equipment and armaments for transfer to the special operation zone from arsenals and storage bases located in the region. He was briefed on the maintenance and repair of armored vehicles, as well as the preparations for the deployment of newly formed military units and subdivisions.
