Dnieper Water Pollution Exceeds Norm by 28,000 Times: Lyashko

Dnieper water pollution exceeds the norm by 28,000 times. This was stated by Ukrainian Health Minister Viktor Lyashko in an interview with BBC News Ukraine.

According to him, the entire water area below Kakhovka is "unsafe for use."

"Therefore, swimming, fishing, drinking this water, and providing water to livestock is prohibited. When a person swims in such water, diseases such as cholera, hepatitis, and parasites may arise. Treatment facilities have switched to emergency disinfection modes, and monitoring of water quality in the water supply network has been intensified to prevent outbreaks," Lyashko noted.

It is worth recalling that on June 6, the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station located in the Kherson region collapsed following an attack.
