«Are You Checking What Quality of Cheese, Eggs, Meat Is Being Sold?». Gegham Nazaryan
During a session of the National Assembly, Gegham Nazaryan, a member of the ‘Armenia’ faction, questioned the Minister of Economy, stating: ‘Are you checking what quality of cheese, eggs, meat is being sold? What are the contents of tomatoes and cucumbers? Because when fruits are genetically modified, they undermine human health. The sector is in a state of disarray.’
Vahan Kerobyan responded, saying, ‘The State Service for Food Safety is constantly conducting inspections, and we see periodically that as a result of these inspections, the activities of certain operators have been suspended.’
It should be recalled that the National Assembly is discussing a package of drafts to amend the Law on State Control of Food Safety and Plant Sanitation.
‘We have a technical issue related to the broadcast, and I have to announce a 20-minute break,’ said National Assembly President Alen Simonian earlier.
