VIDEO. "Our defense has been terminated" - Defense attorney for Gayane Hakobyan

The mother of fallen serviceman Zhora Martirosyan, Gayane Hakobyan, who has been detained in connection with the abduction case of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's son, Ashot Pashinyan, has refused legal representation.

“Our defense has been terminated; we are relieved from providing defense for Hakobyan,” said one of her attorneys, Hovhannes Sargsyan, during a conversation with reporters outside the courthouse.

“There was a change of decision between us and our client, which is why defense will no longer be provided for Gayane; this was our client’s wish,” he noted, adding that a new attorney will be involved in the case.
