Why Apricot Prices Have Decreased This Year: "Hraparak"

The apricot growers in Armenia are feeling the heavy consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian war firsthand. This is reported by "Hraparak."

The issue is that apricots are being sold at unprecedented low prices. Export companies explain that there are several reasons for this decline. Firstly, there has been a sharp decrease in the consumption volumes of goods in Russia. Additionally, fluctuations in the exchange rate of the ruble have also contributed to the falling prices of apricots.

Whereas in previous years apricots were purchased in the initial stage at prices ranging from 800 to 1000 drams, this year, the first harvest has started at just 500 drams. Due to the reduction in export volume, farmers are forced to sell their products in the domestic market at lower prices.
