30-Year-Old Driver Hits Pedestrian with VAZ 21099 in Kotayk; Victim Dies at the Scene

Today, June 8, a fatal accident occurred in the Kotayk region. At approximately 08:40, in the administrative area of Proshyan village, a 30-year-old resident of Aragatsotn, Khachik G., hit a female pedestrian crossing the street in an unauthorized area with his VAZ 21099 vehicle.

According to shamshyan.com, the pedestrian died at the scene. The driver did not attempt to flee and called for an ambulance; however, the paramedics confirmed the death of the pedestrian upon arrival.

The driver underwent a sobriety test on the spot and was found to be sober. A criminal investigation has been initiated by the investigative department of Nairi regarding the incident. The police and the investigative department are working to establish the identity of the deceased.
