Brawl Breaks Out in Restaurant Yard Over Woman's Topic: Details from 'Hraparak'
'Hraparak' newspaper reports: A brawl recently occurred at the 'Hrashq Aygi' restaurant, owned by Hovik Abrahamyan and his close associates, involving supporters of Yurik Muradyan, the head of the administrative district of Dghdzut in the Ararat region, and former and current police officers. Eyewitnesses stated that the community leader and his close associates, specifically his relative and a Ministry of Internal Affairs employee, Rafik Movsisyan, physically assaulted a special forces officer from Yerevan, Tachat Noratunyanc, in front of his wife.
The staged fight in the restaurant yard stemmed from issues relating to the woman; Noratunyanc was beaten in front of his wife's eyes, and the brawl continued in Dghdzut. However, since the community leader is a staunch supporter of the authorities, law enforcement has turned a blind eye to this incident being discussed in the village, and no case has been initiated regarding the matter. Incidentally, the village head was previously among the 'tasooshchiks' of the Republican Party of Armenia.
Yesterday, we inquired with the community leader about the cause of the dispute. Initially, he denied the incident's occurrence but later admitted, claiming that he was not involved, but that someone else was involved: 'We were all participating in a celebration, I believe it was a lamb slaughter ceremony, I do not know what caused the incident.' When asked whether law enforcement was investigating the case and if he, as the community leader, had addressed them, Muradyan stated that he was at a 'panikhida' and could not respond to our questions.
Details in this day's newspaper.
