“The Prime Minister has repeatedly stated that the people of Artsakh did not elect him and he cannot represent the people of Artsakh. Now negotiations are underway, and the people of Artsakh and political forces are declaring that what is on the agenda does not serve their interests. Have you been authorized by the people and authorities of Artsakh to negotiate their future status on their behalf?” asked Arthur Khachatryan, a member of the ‘Armenia’ faction, during the budget discussions while addressing the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan.

Mirzoyan noted that the only thing they are trying to secure in the Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiation process is that a resolution cannot be comprehensive and sustainable unless a platform is created where the people of Artsakh and Baku can discuss the issues that are important to the people of Artsakh.

“We are not negotiating around the status, nor do we have such aspirations, nor anything else,” the minister stated.
