Czech Republic to Charge Russia for Land Leases
The Czech Republic plans to charge Russia for the lease of land beneath diplomatic and residential buildings in three cities, according to a document published by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A total of 59 plots of land are involved, covering an area of approximately 50,000 square meters. In the past, the USSR provided land in the Czech Republic free of charge for diplomatic purposes. However, it is now claimed that this land is not being used for its intended purposes, and thus, the lease payment will be demanded at market rates.
