VIDEO: We Have Incidents of Tree Cutting. There Was a Hotline Call, Avinyan

In the Yerevan City Hall, a procedural consultation is taking place.

“We have incidents of tree cutting in the Kentron administrative district. And I know that there has been a call to our hotline,” announced Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan and requested responsible individuals to present how the incident occurred.

According to Shavarsh Grigoryan, secretary of the Yerevan City Hall staff, there have been two calls to the hotline and a problem arose regarding the connection between the hotline and the area supervisor. “The issue will be resolved today,” noted Grigoryan.

“I must request that a service investigation be initiated. We need to understand who caused this technical problem first of all. Secondly, Mr. Ghukasian, I am confident that these trees were not cut down for no reason. Someone must have thought they could seize that piece of land. Please send your guys over there, and if there is any area fenced, clear it completely,” added Tigran Avinyan.

“No one should think for a second that they can carry out new land seizures through these methods. There was a hotline call; these must be responded to immediately. We cannot wait for the trees to be cut down and then go document it post-factum,” stated the Deputy Mayor of Yerevan.
