Aliyev: There Are No Serious Obstacles to Signing a Peace Agreement
There are virtually no serious obstacles to signing a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as reported by TASS.
According to him, a peace treaty could be signed in the near future. "Now that Armenia has recognized our territorial integrity, there is practically no serious obstacle to a peace treaty," he said during a meeting with residents of the Lachin region.
Aliyev added that the signing of the peace agreement will take place unless Yerevan "changes its position again."
It is noteworthy that Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied reports suggesting that a signing of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku is planned in Chisinau. The Armenian side will be ready to sign the document when all fundamental issues are clarified.
