Russia Comments on Ankara's Arms Supply to Kyiv
The supply of weapons and equipment from Ankara to Kyiv contradicts Turkey's intention to ensure a ceasefire and is not aligned with its mediator role. This was stated by Yuri Pilipson, the head of the European Fourth Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, to RIA Novosti.
“Ankara has repeatedly declared its desire to quickly secure a ceasefire in Ukraine and to resume the negotiation process under its own mediation. Of course, the supply of arms and military equipment to the Kyiv regime directly contradicts such intentions and does not align with the role of a mediator,” said the diplomat.
Earlier, Russia had sent a note to NATO countries regarding the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying arms to Ukraine.
