Iran and Armenia's Unity Prevents the Opening of the Zangezur Corridor, Says Kilicdaroglu
The candidate for the presidency of Turkey's opposition "Nation" alliance, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, has responded to questions regarding Turkey-Azerbaijan relations and the "Zangezur Corridor."
“When I become president, in accordance with state traditions, my first visit will be to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and my second, of course, will be to Azerbaijan. There is no difference between Baku and Istanbul. I am sure that the leaders of other parties view Azerbaijan-Turkey relations in the same way that I do,” Kilicdaroglu stated.
In response to questions about the "Zangezur Corridor," Kilicdaroglu said, “You know, there is the Zangezur corridor that should be opened. However, the opening of this corridor depends on the agreement of the parties and Turkey's unconditional support for Azerbaijan. The unity of Iran and Armenia is significantly obstructing the opening of this corridor. If Turkey utilizes its potential, it will be much stronger in the region. If it can convince and explain that this opening corridor will greatly benefit Turkey, Iran, Armenia, and Turkic states, all countries will be able to share in the resulting economic dividends. We need to expand this corridor.”
