Unprecedented Quantity of Fentanyl Drug Smuggling Prevented in the Region, Says Head of the State Revenue Committee
An unprecedented quantity of fentanyl drug smuggling has been prevented in the region as a result of operational work and analysis. This was stated by Rustam Badasyan, the head of the State Revenue Committee, on his Facebook page.
“The use of fentanyl-type drugs is extremely dangerous, as the rate of deaths caused by overdoses is the highest compared to other drugs,” wrote Badasyan.
The head of the State Revenue Committee noted that according to official publications from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), six out of ten fentanyl pills contain a lethal dose. Additionally, statistical data shows that in the United States, approximately 72,000 citizens died from fentanyl-related incidents in 2022, and this figure is increasing year by year. The effects of fentanyl are 50 times stronger than that of heroin and 100 times stronger than that of morphine.
