Recall that Prime Minister's family-owned "Haykakan Zhamanak" reported on May 17 that members of the "Call of the Sons" NGO attempted to abduct the Prime Minister's son. According to the newspaper, the parents of deceased servicemen forced Ashot Pashinyan to sit in their car, but he managed to escape from the vehicle that had come to a temporary stop, after which he was hit by a car belonging to members of the same organization. Later it became known that the report filed by Ashot Pashinyan with the Armenian Police has been transferred to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, and a criminal case has been initiated on the charges of kidnapping a person; one individual, Gayané Hakobyan, has been arrested.

On May 18, a confrontation took place between Ashot Pashinyan and Gayané Hakobyan at the Investigative Department of the Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan. On the same day, it became known that the mother of a fallen serviceman had declared a hunger strike. On May 20, following the decision to arrest Gayané Hakobyan, the parents of deceased servicemen marched along Arshakunyants Boulevard to the Republic Square and declared an indefinite sit-in, demanding the release of Gayané Hakobyan. It should be noted that she stopped her hunger strike yesterday.
