Iran and Russia to Invest in Syria's Mining Sector

Iran and Russia will make investments in Syria's mining sector. This was stated by the country's Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Firas Qaddour, to Sputnik, according to Mehr.

According to the Syrian minister, nine investment opportunities have been proposed by Syria's Investment Agency.

“We are expanding new projects and industries. Efforts are being made to facilitate investments in underground resources, especially in mineral resources, most of which are located in remote areas,” he said.

He noted that despite American sanctions, communications have been held with Arab countries and friendly nations, and that projects and investments in this sector are being implemented and reviewed.

During the recent Arab League summit held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Syria's Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade called on Arab countries to invest in the country, considering the promising opportunities for attracting investments and the existence of new laws.
