Before Being My Wife, She Is First a Citizen of Armenia: Aghazaryan on His Wife Working in the National Assembly
Active information is circulating in the public domain that "Civil Contract" faction MP Hovik Aghazaryan's wife has been employed in the National Assembly. This is reported by the newspaper "Iravunk."
According to the same rumors, she has accepted a position as a janitor. We tried to clarify how true these reports were by reaching out to Hovik Aghazaryan himself, who surprisingly responded to our inquiry with another question.
— Why are you addressing me with this question?
— It concerns your wife.
— There is a relevant department in the National Assembly; contact them, what connection do I have with your question?
— A direct connection, Mr. Aghazaryan, the question directly pertains to your wife, so we found it appropriate to clarify with you personally.
— Before being my wife, she is first a citizen of Armenia; the question regarding her is not one I can answer.
— So you neither confirm nor deny?
— In other words, I am not answering.
— Well, Mr. Aghazaryan, can you tell us how you purchased an apartment in the newly built neighborhood?
— We bought the apartment for $63,000 with a mortgage, for which we pay monthly. At this moment, we still owe the bank $50,000. We live there with my wife, son, and his family, and we all contribute to paying the mortgage.
— Where is your apartment, and how many square meters is it?
— It is located in the "Ani" neighborhood; the rest is personal information, please don’t intrude.
