VIDEO: It's Not Normal for a Hole to Be Dug for Weeks or Months Without Action, Avinyan

During a procedural meeting at the Yerevan City Hall, Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan addressed Acting Head of the Construction and Improvement Department Khoren Grigoryan, stating:

“Starting next year, we will hand over road maintenance to road companies, and we will not perform pothole filling works, is that correct?”

According to Grigoryan, separate tenders for pothole filling, line marking, and installation of signs will not be conducted; they will be packaged together with monthly performance targets. The responsible party for road maintenance will be the road company.

“This means that if a pothole is dug, it should be filled on the same day. It is clear that we are implementing a different methodology starting next year, but it is not normal for a hole to remain dug for weeks or months without any action. If they are unable to provide maintenance, they should withdraw from the contracts,” Avinyan added.
