Biden Addresses Many Issues in Turkey Even Without Election Results
U.S. President Joe Biden commented on the elections held in Turkey, stating that there are plenty of issues in the region even without disputes over voting results. During a conversation with reporters in Delaware, the transcript of which was released by the White House press office on Sunday.
Reporters asked the American leader to comment on the Turkish opposition's statements that their candidate is leading in the elections, as well as reports from Turkish state media claiming that the sitting president is winning.
“It sounds familiar, doesn’t it? No, look, I just hope everything proceeds in a way that whoever wins, wins. I mean, there are plenty of issues in this part of the world, and that’s true even without that,” Biden said.
