Demands to Prosecute Nicolas Sarkozy in France
The French national financial prosecutor's office has requested to prosecute former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, according to BFM.
Sarkozy is accused of corruption and embezzlement of public funds.
The request is linked to allegations of potential financing from Libyan authorities for his 2007 presidential campaign.
A total of 12 defendants are involved in the case, including former Interior Minister Claude Guéant.
