Russia Takes Armenia's Situation Very Seriously, Says Kopirkin
Russia takes the situation in Armenia very seriously, along with its allied obligations to the Republic of Armenia, and is making every effort to establish an era of peace, security, and development in the country. This was stated by Sergey Kopirkin, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Armenia, during a conversation with journalists at the "Victory" Park.
According to him, Moscow supports all efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation in the South Caucasus and establishing peace and stability. “In our opinion, the efforts mentioned by the press secretary of the President of Russia today should contribute to the implementation of the trilateral agreements confirmed by the leaders of the three countries through a trilateral statement,” Kopirkin said.
The ambassador emphasized that this is Russia's principled and conceptual stance, and it is on this basis that work is being done and active efforts are being made to advance the process. Kopirkin noted that Moscow views all guarantees in this way, under which there will be no escalation, and the parties will come to an agreement that serves the interests of all countries and peoples in the South Caucasus.
“We are constantly in touch with the parties and are actively advancing the peace agenda by providing mediation services. We hope that a meeting will soon take place in Moscow,” he said.
The diplomat emphasized that the Russian peacekeeping contingent is working in Nagorno-Karabakh, making efforts and addressing the tasks set before it, helping to stabilize the situation, including the opening of the Lachin corridor, despite the challenges.
