VIDEO: 'Hungry' Student Eats $120,000 Banana
A South Korean 'hungry' student has eaten an artwork worth $120,000. This was reported by the Комсомольская правда Telegram channel.
The banana, which was affixed to the wall, was part of a contemporary art exhibit by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, currently taking place at the Leeum Museum in Seoul. The student explained his act by stating that he had skipped breakfast and was very hungry. After eating the banana, he stuck the peel back on the wall.
Fortunately, museum representatives did not demand compensation from the student since the banana is replaced with a fresh one every three days.
Following the incident, museum staff glued a new banana back onto the wall.
