General-Lieutenant Lentsov Appointed Commander of Russian Peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh
General-Lieutenant Alexander Lentsov has been appointed as the commander of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"As of April 25, 2023, General-Lieutenant Alexander Lentsov, who previously served as the Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, has been appointed as the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent," the ministry stated.
On April 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed issues related to the stability and security of Nagorno-Karabakh during a phone call with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
