Erdogan Promises Free Gas for Turkish Residents
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Thursday the commencement of gas supply from the Black Sea. Erdogan stated that this launch is a significant step for Turkey in achieving energy independence. In the initial phase, 10 million cubic meters will be extracted daily. Once the project reaches its full capacity, Turkey will be able to meet 30% of its gas needs.
The Turkish leader also mentioned that residents will not have to pay for the gas used in their kitchens and for hot water for one year. Moreover, the citizens will not be charged for the gas used for home heating for one month.
