Why Are We Delayed Today: Ohanyan to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure
The balanced development of regions is a priority issue for any state, especially in our current situation. This was stated by Seyran Ohanyan, the head of the 'Armenia' parliamentary faction, addressing Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan.
“For the balanced development of regions, the cooperation of your ministry with other structures is extremely important. Has your ministry conducted an analysis during the past or previous year regarding the actions taken during the transition from war to peacetime to support the army with engineering works behind the frontlines? It turns out that Azerbaijan, despite having no infrastructure or residential areas, has escalated tensions and climbed our borders more quickly than we have, even with our residents behind us. We should have been able to ascend those heights much faster,” he said.
In response, Gnel Sanosyan noted: “In the post-war period, an analysis has been carried out; I do not know if it was sufficient or not. We have tried to assess with our partners what we have done and what should have been done. Certain legal changes have also been implemented. In the border areas where your mentioned issues exist, there is quite good cooperation with regional administrations, the Ministry of Defense, and the National Security Service. I believe we do not have issues in terms of cooperation.”
Responding once again, Seyran Ohanyan reiterated his questions: “Why are we delayed today when the Azerbaijanis are ascending our borders faster? After all, we have significant construction potential that we can invest.”
