At Least 80 Dead in Yemen Stampede, Dozens Injured
At least 78 people have died and dozens have been injured in a stampede during a relief event in Sana'a, Yemen, late Wednesday, according to the Associated Press, citing a Houthi official.
Dozens of injured individuals have been transferred to nearby hospitals, with at least 13 suffering serious injuries, reported senior health official Motaher al-Maruni.
According to the Houthi-controlled Interior Ministry, the stampede occurred in the old city of Sana'a when hundreds gathered for an event organized by entrepreneurs. The Interior Ministry has stated that two of the organizers have been arrested. An investigation is currently underway.
