Our People Are Currently Afraid to Work in the Upper Region of Sotk: Hakob Avetyan
The work of technicians transporting ore from the Sotk mine has currently been suspended due to safety concerns, as stated by Hakob Avetyan, the former head of the Gagik community in Gegharkunik province, in an interview with MediaHub.
Avetyan mentioned that gunfire from Azerbaijanis occurs from time to time, causing anxiety among local residents. This concern is also linked to the situation created in the village of Tegh in Syunik province. He stated, “Our people are currently afraid to work in the upper part of Sotk. This refers to the areas where the Turks are present; the work continues below. There is danger from the Turk at every moment; you never know when they will start shooting.”
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Defense previously reported that on April 16 at around 22:50, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire with various calibers of firearms towards Armenian positions located in the direction of Sotk.
