Poland Receives Second Batch of Bayraktar Strike Drones from Turkey

Poland has received a second batch of Bayraktar strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from Turkey. This was announced on Twitter by Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“The next Bayraktar has been integrated into the Polish army. The UAV tests conducted at the 12th base in Mirosławiec have just been successfully completed,” Blaszczak wrote.

He reminded that the first batch consisting of six Bayraktar UAVs was delivered to Poland in October 2022. Last spring, Poland signed a contract to purchase four Bayraktar strike UAV systems from Turkey. These drones are armed with anti-tank missiles. Along with the drones, Poland is also acquiring logistic and training packages, as well as a service offset.

The total value of the contract amounted to $270 million. The Bayraktar is a strike operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) armed with hanging missiles, produced by the Turkish private company Baykar Makina.
