Armenian Defense Ministry Spokesperson on Gunfire Directed at Sotk
On the evening of April 14, from 19:00 to 23:00, Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire in the direction of the Sotk mine.
Gunfire resumed on the morning of April 15, leading to a decision to halt mine operations and evacuate employees for safety reasons. This was reported to Armenpress by Rusanna Grigoryan, a representative of GeoProMining Gold.
"The situation is calm at the moment, there are no gunshots, but the mine operations remain suspended," she noted.
The news agency also contacted the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Aram Torosyan, for official information. "In case of any intensive ceasefire violations by the adversary, the Ministry of Defense will issue a corresponding statement," the spokesperson emphasized.
