Armenia Ready to Withdraw Troops: Pashinyan Responds to the EU

Armenia is prepared to accept the proposals of the European Union's diplomatic service and to withdraw troops along the border. This statement was made today by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting.

It should be noted that the EU's diplomatic service issued a statement yesterday, stating that prior to delimitation, Armenia and Azerbaijan should maintain the borders of 1991. It was also mentioned that the armed forces of both parties should keep a safe distance from the current border to prevent incidents.

"I must emphasize that Azerbaijan's unconstructive approach hinders such a solution; it systematically demonstrates non-compliance with international agreements," he said, adding that this pertains to the release of captives, the non-use of force, and the uninterrupted operation of the Lachin corridor.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Armenia is ready to reopen economic and transport corridors in the region based on the previously articulated principles.
