VIDEO: Pashinyan Responds to Serzh Sargsyan's Statements

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has responded to Serzh Sargsyan's statements claiming that during his tenure, the army was strong and combat-ready. Pashinyan reminded about Sargsyan’s comments made in Stepanakert, where he suggested that if no compromises were made regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, they would be singing 'Stepanakert-Stepanakert', just like they sing 'Kars-Kars'. 'If the army was that strong and combat-ready at that time, then why were they singing Stepanakert-Stepankert? In a strong army situation, it seems like a different song should have been sung; I don't want to mention the title loudly.'

Pashinyan stated that no soldier has claimed there was a shortage of weapons during the 44-day war: 'On the contrary, some military personnel left warehouses full of weapons worth billions and fled. Enough is enough; there is a limit to everything. We haven’t seen the footage of Azerbaijani forces publishing videos of their captured military units showcasing warehouses full of weapons. Also, we don't remember what kind of discussions were held back in 2016; even the Prime Minister, from this country's podium, was saying there was an issue with fuel or I don’t know what. Then they understood and covered it up.'

Pashinyan noted that the previous authorities cannot imagine a different form of governance other than being led from outside and turning the existing resources into personal property, making them unlawful: 'They broke our entire officer class, they broke them morally, and today we are bearing the consequences of that.'
