Video: Meetings with Baku Ready to Resume in Yerevan, Says Mirzoyan
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, addressed the ongoing process of normalizing relations with Azerbaijan. In this context, he emphasized that within the framework of an international mechanism for dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert, the rights and security of the Nagorno-Karabakh people must be addressed and resolved. He stated, 'Certainly, this group of issues is part of the larger process of Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization. It's not the first time we've stated this. We do not consider it realistic to reach a comprehensive final resolution or establish lasting peace in the region without addressing the rights and security concerns of the Nagorno-Karabakh people.'
Mirzoyan also mentioned that the negotiation process has never been interrupted. 'We have exchanged proposals multiple times regarding the draft peace agreement, held direct or mediated discussions, and now, yes, various partners have periodically suggested organizing our meetings. We currently have proposals on the table, and such meetings will take place soon,' he confirmed.
