Zelensky Signs Bill for Record Increase in Defense Spending

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a bill that provides for a $14.6 billion increase in defense spending, according to information published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

"04/11/2023 Returned with the signature of the President of Ukraine," is indicated on the page of the bill published on the parliament's website.

According to Verkhovna Rada Member Yaroslav Zheleznyak, this represents a record increase in the budget.

"Such significant changes have never occurred in the Ukrainian budget before," he wrote on his Telegram channel, detailing that the bill will come into force on April 13.
