Azerbaijan's Latest Anti-Armenian Rhetoric at the UN Podium

Approximately three months after the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor, official Baku continues to not only ignore and deny the demands of the international community but also to push forward environmental false claims, blaming the Armenian side.

During a working visit to New York (USA), the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova, participated in a high-level UN meeting.

The event was dedicated to a UN General Assembly resolution based on the 'zero emissions' initiative proposed by Turkey's First Lady, Emine Erdoğan.

In her speech, Gafarova stated that all countries have a moral and legal obligation to protect the environment for the sake of present and future generations.

She reiterated the hoary theme of the Azerbaijani propaganda machine, claiming that Armenia has subjected 20% of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territories to environmental 'terrorism' during the '30 years of occupation.'

The Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament made reckless accusations, stating that Armenians have 'destroyed forests and reserves, illegally exploited Azerbaijan’s natural resources, polluted lands and rivers, including transboundary rivers flowing through Azerbaijan.'
