Opposition Raises Concerns Over Electoral Violations

Armenian National Assembly member Karen Hambartsumyan appears to have so much free time that he can spend hours standing near polling station 34/06. This was reported by Mikael Nahapetyan, a member of the Executive Body of the ‘Citizen’s Decision’ party.

“This mechanism for influencing voters' will was used at the neighborhood level until 2018; now the ‘situation has changed’,” he wrote.

Earlier, Henrikh Danielyan, president of the youth organization of the Republican Party of Armenia, had reported numerous electoral violations in Sisian. “This is the image of the fair and transparent elections organized by Nikol. Members of the commissions have clear instructions to check the voter lists and guide the voters. In this way, they verify who has come to the polling station and who hasn’t. This situation exists at all polling stations,” he stated.

The pre-election headquarters of the ‘Citizen’s Decision’ party is receiving information in real-time concerning bribes being distributed to voters in the name of the ‘Civil Contract’ party. This was reported by the headquarters.

“There are individuals who have been in the areas adjacent to the polling stations for a long time, representing the Civil Contract party and working in community and state institutions, who have certain lists that may contain the data of citizens who have received electoral bribes. Our designated representatives' complaints regarding the identity of these individuals and their actions aimed at directing voters have essentially ceased to be examined by the electoral commissions,” the statement continued.

The ‘Citizen’s Decision’ election headquarters announces that it is halting any actions to clarify information regarding the said cases and to identify individuals committing acts that exhibit the characteristics of a crime.

It is worth noting that in the Sisian community of the Syunik province, the Republican Party of Armenia, the ‘Civil Contract’ party, and the ‘Citizen’s Decision’ Social-Democratic Party have all been nominated.
